This month, we hosted Silverdale Baptist from Chattanooga as they held a weekend conference to teach church leaders how to begin a marriage program called Re|engage.
EBTC has partnered with the MCCA church for the past few years, providing a facility for Sunday worship while the members are in the process of building their church down the road. In previous years, teams traveling to the island for ministry have mixed concrete to help in constructing the floor, porch, and belt course. The time came for the church to put the rafters and roof on the building. Read on to see how God provided in their time of need.
Cuba continues to struggle with power outages across the island. This, along with basic necessities being difficult to find and resources being scarce, makes daily life hard for our friends there. These are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of many other areas of society that are struggling.
Justin and LeAnne Wilson and their three children have been in Abaco for one year! Over those twelve months, they hosted their first Pastor’s Conference, kicked off training classes, began small group Bible studies, reconnected with former students, and found their rhythm as a family in a new culture.
For over a decade now, Link Year, a Kanakuk gap year program in Branson MO has partnered with CMA’s ministry in Eleuthera. CMA just hosted a team of 18 students and leaders for four weeks.
On September 26th, Hurricane Ian swept across western Cuba, leaving destruction in its path. Because it later hit Florida, most people are not aware of the devastation in Pinar Del Rio and other cities in western Cuba.
Training will begin in October with CMA missionary Bill Landers teaching the Eight Core Values of Christian Leaders who Accelerate the spread of the Gospel. There also remains a desire and hunger for theological training among the pastors and church leaders on the island. We are praying and planning about a launch date to begin a new cycle of BTCP courses on the island.
We believe that God is not finished with CMA in Abaco due to the hunger and desire for training that is evident among the pastors and church leaders on the island. We are praying that God will raise up a missionary family to move to Abaco and lead the training ministry on the island.
He made “a way” around turned down Covid tests, “a way” around last minute food poisoning, “a way” around airport shuttles that did not show up, “a way” around immigration hold ups. Over and over, He showed His might and we could hardly wait to see all the new things He had planned for these 150+ women that would attend the conference.
