Who We Are
Caribbean Ministries Association (CMA) exists to provide Biblical training to serve the churches and ministries in the Caribbean. We are committed to teaching Scripture’s foundational doctrines; that the people of God may be fully equipped to rightly divide the Word of Truth.
CMA is a 501(c)(3) inter-denominational ministry based in Chattanooga, TN that trains leaders and serves churches in Cuba, Eleuthera Bahamas, Abaco Bahamas, and Freeport Grand Bahama . The vision of Caribbean Ministries Association is to empower the churches of the Caribbean by providing an interdenominational Bible training ministry, establishing and equipping God’s people in God’s Word.
What We Do
Caribbean Ministries Association (CMA) trains leaders and serves the churches and ministries in the Caribbean Basin. We train leaders to be fully equipped to rightly divide the Word of Truth and we serve the local churches and communities by meeting needs with short-term mission teams, providing ministry training and disaster relief.
The Caribbean is home to over 40 million people, many of whom have heard the Gospel but have only nominal spiritual growth. Churches are numerous, yet skilled teaching and training for the people is limited. Most churches are pastored by lay ministers who have had little opportunity to receive any Bible training. For most of these pastors and church leaders to leave their homes and churches to attend seminary abroad is not only cost prohibitive, but would leave their churches without a pastor for an extended period of time. These leaders need equipping opportunities in the Caribbean that will allow them to continue their ministry while receiving the training that they need.
CMA provides training to local church leaders by giving them opportunities to take courses right where they live, work and minister. CMA provides theological training through a partnership with BTCP (bibletraining.com), Mission for Transformation training and equipping leaders to accelerate the spread of the gospel through our partnership with ILI (International Leadership Institute). Equipping these leaders will impact their congregations and generations to come through the Word of God.
To serve the local churches we connect short-term mission teams with ministry experiences on the islands and countries served by CMA. Our goal for each team is two-fold — to serve and learn. Both are accomplished by strategically linking each mission team in partnership with national churches and ministries to impact local communities with the gospel of Christ. Serving involves being the hands and feet of Christ out in the communities, meeting real needs such as building a health clinic, assisting low-income families with home repairs, hurricane relief work and working alongside locals in assisting with building churches. Learning is intentional as each team is taught about ministering in a cross-cultural ministry context from CMA missionaries who host our mission teams.
